Madison Needs Network is Gearing-Up for School Readiness 2019
MNN's 4th annual School Readiness Campaign is just one month away!
This year’s pop-up school supply store will be held in the parking lot of Black Hawk Middle School from 10am to 5pm on August 17th. The store is open to all students within the Madison Metropolitan School District and no registration is required. The goal of this effort is to eliminate the expense of back to school supplies so that all students in our community arrive on their first day prepared to be active learners.
The inaugural School Readiness Campaign put over 6,000 units of school supplies in students' hands! Each year the amount of school supplies and the amount of shoppers has dramatically increased. Last year, students were able to choose from over 500 brand new backpacks! Madison Needs Network continues their support throughout the year as well, filling as many January supply restock requests as possible. Last January the organization partnered with Madison Metropolitan School District's Welcoming Schools program to purchase books for all Madison elementary schools! The board of directors for the Madison Needs Network works hard to ensure that each year their School Readiness Campaign has a bigger impact on kids and their school experience!
